Summer mercato 2012
To be honest hate to screw up the party, but even brasileiro can agree ganso isn't the same since being injured he's not a player with breathtaking speed that will dribble past defenders then shoot, if anything he's one of those stationary players that will come in and out of games, my friend is a huge neymar fan and obviously whenever he's playing he watches ganso too, we both saw bits and pieces of Copa Libertadores ( I watch Cruz Azul of Mexico, Flamengo of Brasil )be realistic I hope I'm wrong and ganso turns into like a totti type player, a pirlo type ( that can run ) but with the amount of injuries him and pato get on a often basis is not a prospect I'm willing to flirt with however if we can ship Robinho and they ask 15 - 10 Mill for Ganso I'll agree but 20 is a exagerated amount I'd rather sign Edin Hazard

He admitted that actually it is not the wage the main reason but that Allegri would not use him in his usual position anymore as deep-lying playmaker, or something like that.

If I'm not mistaken I believe it is Robinho OR 20mil. for Ganso, not Robinho and money... Honestly, I've watched Ganso playing once for Brazil and he did nothing to impress me, but I'll keep quiet on this one...

On the other hand, I don't really care if we ship Robinho away, because with Ibra, Cassano and El Sharaawy including questionable Pato we should be covered in attack... Maybe someone like Lopez wo can contribute and not complain on being the substitute...

The young Brazilian creative midfielder has long been linked with a move to Serie A, as the Rossoneri, Inter, Roma and Juventus are among those who have shown an interest.

It is widely reported that agent Tiago Ferro, whose company owns 55 per cent of his contract, is in Italy this weekend and will meet with Adriano Galliani later today.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Santos would be prepared to release Ganso for around €20m.

Milan hope to reduce the price-tag by including striker Robinho as part of the deal, as Santos already declared their interest in the former Manchester City and Real Madrid hitman earlier this month.

Robinho has already played for Santos in his career and would be welcomed back as a star in his native Brazil.

Yep, read that of football italia. I had figured Ganso's current market value being around 20m (I think I mentioned it on the forum somewhere), so this deal makes sense.

Allegri likes dynamic midfielders, but I think generally he has wanted ball players as well. Last season he used Seedorf and much of this season he used Aquilani. He eventually stuck with Nocerino and Muntari either side of MvB/Ambro, but I think this was a result of long injuries to both Seedorf and Aquilani, and Muntari did well with his passing game since joining. Given that when we lack a ball player in midfield we rely more on Ibra dropping back, I'm sure Allegri will welcome guys like Montolivo and possibly Ganso with open arms.

The biggest question regarding Ganso is workrate right now, but I'm sure Allegri will relish the chance to manage such a gifted player (I'm sure most managers would).

So, I assume Pirlo didn't like playing as left CM (I suspect, one of the reason Pirlo didn't get chance as often as before he injured himself is that he didn't like Allegri's decision giving the anchor position to Bommel and Ambrosini). Before he got injured, Pirlo play as left CM and interchange his position with Ambrosini while playing (sometimes Pirlo as anchor, sometimes Ambro while the game was playing). CMIIW

Correct, not playing as regista and not being offered more than a one year contract is the key reasoning behind Pirlo leaving. Allegri preferred more physically stronger players in front of defence while Pirlo wasn't interested in playing another position. I still doubt Allegri would reject having a player with Pirlo's capabilities in his side.

You have to remember a year ago before his knee injury, Ganso was valued at around 40-50 million, comparable to Neymar. His value since has dropped by more than half. That said, he's still a highly promising and reputable player, so his value definitely won't be less than 20m (I'm sure Santos will still say he's worth around 30m, like we do with Pato). Robinho on the other hand can't be worth any less than 15m. We got him for 18m, he did great last season while was poor this. He's only 28, but the problem is I doubt there'll be great interest in the market for him and he's made very high profile mistakes in CL, hence his value probably having dropped a little. Presuming Ganso's worth about 20m and Robinho around 15m, we'd only be looking to make up a difference of around 5m.
Pirlo claimed that he left Milan for two reasons: (1) he had to give away his holding CM position and play as LCM; (2) he wanted to get a 3-year extension but was given only one. So, Milan did not "trust" him anymore. Rolleyes

Of course he did. Not like he'll say I wanted more money Smile would make him sound greedy, which he was.

What I mean is actually length of the contract, not the wage (money). As mentioned by xudong, he wanted 3 years but Milan offered 1 year. He said once that it is the reason why he moved then later he admitted that he moved because Allegri already give his position to Van Bommel and Ambrosini.

I am sure that it was just some negotiation strategy. If Pirlo truly wanted to stay (and assumed LCM role), I honestly don't think that Milan would give him only one year extension. He probably was determined to leave anyway, and that certainly came very handy.

Of course we probably are never going to find out what the truth is. I am just upset that he was totally lacking interest in playing for us in the past few seasons (one can argue that's how he "looked") but he seemed a changed person with Jube. That annoyed me greatly; then him sprouting attacks on Milan management (including Allegri) and not skimping on his joy when winning the scudetto just pissed me off.

Milannews.it has it that we are following Sahin and Nainggolan. Hope we really are. Both the players are good and plus a Strootman deal should set our midfiled ready for next term.

Do Milan really need 5 strikers?
Can Ganso fits into Allegri's system?

I am not suggesting Allegri loves all his Mids to be Nocerino but from his system, he does love his mid to have movement off the ball. Something that Ganso is not good at. secondly, u have to ask yourself the drop in Ganso's value over theist year, mainly due to injuries. San Siro got one of the worst pitch in all of to flight football. Thirdly, Milanlab.

So even if Ganso can fits into Allegri's system, I really don't want to see him in Milan bc the chances of him getting injured like Pato is very high.
