Italian clubs and their obsessions with poor coaches

RE: Serie A - ACM2023 - 01-17-2024

Mourinho and his third-year curse Big Grin (is it a curse though? I am sure that it was great financially for him.) Grinundwech

RE: Serie A - Sampinjon - 01-18-2024

I'm not sure what are they expecting? It's not Roma from 20 years ago. With extremely limited team they have, they're pretty much where they belong, and not far behind 4th spot. They also won one euro trophy and played final of EL (which they lost on penalties). Not big fan of Mourinho, but if they think that someone else, especially noob De Rossi (although it's gaslighting fans move), can do a much better job - then they're on verge of huge disappointment.

RE: Serie A - ACM2023 - 01-18-2024

Maybe that's exactly why. Roma finally come to sense that they aren't a big team so they don't need a big-name coach. (I wonder how the two parties separate and if Roma has to fully pay up; if they do, then this move makes little sense because Mourinho can actually grind some results for them.)

Oh well, no more boring and easy (not really) wins for Milan against Roma. Big Grin

I do like De Rossi as a player, and let's see where he can take Roma, a team I used to have a soft spot for while growing up but have become more and more annoyed with over the years.

RE: Serie A - Sampinjon - 01-18-2024

If they need to pay it won't be much because Mourinho's contract was expiring at the end of season and there was agreement that it won't be extended because he's going to Arabia where he agreed to takeover some club from next season for some crazy money(100M per season or something like that).

Roma is on steriod under De Rossi

RE: Serie A - Sampinjon - 03-03-2024

What's the thing with bologna? Not much of a team on paper, but seems unstoppable now. Would like to see them in CL, next season, though...

They would sell all of their star players, and end up 4th in the grp

RE: Serie A - reza - 03-12-2024

Sarri resigned, good option to consider for next season?

RE: Serie A - nefremo - 03-12-2024

Could be a good option for sure. I think he's "lost his way" a little bit, but he's still one of the top managers in Italy. The part that worries me about him is that he has a bit of trouble adapting. He needs players that will follow his philosophy, and his philosophy requires specific players.
