RE: Serie A - Demonbanana - 09-27-2020 (09-26-2020, 07:49 PM)nefremo Wrote: Doesn't really matter to me to be honest. Spezia can stay up, that's fine. Naturally, due to our connection with Pippo, I want him to do well though. But yes, you are correct. Benevento has decided to go with a transfer strategy where they signed players with Serie A experience. We'll see how it works out for them. Imagine Monza, Pescara and Frosinone are the teams that came up. Brocchi , Oddo and Nesta joining Rino in Serie A Nesta almost made it for this season. Did you know De Zerbi at Sassuolo was a Milan Primavera player? That's very technical , but you can even count him I like De Zerbi by the way. I think he will be a good coach. But no matter if it's Benevento, Spezia or Monza, Milan need a feeder team. Even in Japan they use local and district team's in this way but to also get rid of useless player's eg Halilovic I think guy's like Halilovic and such would be easier to move on if we tell them they're joining Galliani and co or whoever. RE: Serie A - nefremo - 09-27-2020 Yes, I knew about De Zerbi. He used to be on the 2001/2002 Championship Manager game (the old Football Manager). Classic game right there. I spent countless sleepless night playing it. Haha Interesting thing is, even though I haven't played FM in ages now, there used to be a feature where you could create a relationship with a smaller team and just loan out your players to that team for development. Youbcould even have an agreement where youbhad "first refusal" rights on their players. It used to be a thing in real life as well (not the first refusal thing). We would constantly (although unofficially) see teams collaborate with smaller clubs to co-own players and loan out players. I feel like all of it stopped when the co-ownerships were outlawed. Less of an incentive for the small clubs now. Business is business so everyone is only minding their own nowdays. RE: Serie A - Sleeping Giant - 09-27-2020 De Zerbi is actually known as Italian Guardiola RE: Serie A - nefremo - 09-27-2020 Spezia - Sassuolo this morning. Our boy Pobega played for about 70 minutes. It was a midfield 3 and he played as the LCM. Didnt't do anything wrong, but didn't stand out either. I feel like he's more suited to a pivot role. I'm glad he started though and hopefully gets some valuable experience and grows. It would be really nice to get him back in a year and be able to count on him. Btw, Ricci was the best Spezia CM. He's a different Ricci then the highly rated Empoli one. In terms of the game...Spezia is another one of the teams that will find it very hard to survive. Sassuolo actually scored 7 goals in this game. 3 of them rulled out for offside. Couple of them veeerrry tight. Also, worth a note....all Serie A games have been super entertaining so far this weekend. Attacking football and tons of goals. This is no longer the tactical, defensive Serie A of the 90s. All teams try to play football rather then park the bus...even the newly promoted teams. Of course...as the season goes on this will change especially if they keep conceding 4-5 goals a game. RE: Serie A - Sleeping Giant - 09-27-2020 Pobega is pretty unlucky to face 'not so' Italian team in his Serie A debut. RE: Serie A - nefremo - 09-27-2020 He'll face a lot of those. To be honest, that term "Italian" has changed its meaning in recent years. Like I said, all the teams now try to play rather then just defend and counter. So the new norm of what "Italian team/style" means is no longer the same. Tactics is still a major factor, yes. Every player that comes to Italy from outside always comments how much emphasis there is on tactics in training. But I think the tactics themselves have changed. They are a lot more offensive these days. This new generation of coaches is different. You still have the old school mentality, such as we saw with Iachini's Fiorentina yesterday. Or Ranieri and Samp. But those are becoming fewer every year. RE: Serie A - Demonbanana - 09-28-2020 Jube and Roma drawing is so good for us. Especially since Roma "lost" the first game and are more likely to be direct competition. Napoli crushed Genoa, big statement. We need some team's to drop points soon. I would like us to have bit of a gap within the top 4, we will probably have a bad period and chasing does nothing for my health! RE: Serie A - nefremo - 09-28-2020 Still too early. But yes, we hopefully won't be playing "catch-up" in January. As long as we keep winning our own games, we won't need anyone to drop points. Games like Bologna/Crotone/Spezia are the ones we have to win. No two ways about it. Couple of the CL fighting teams will falter. It happens every yeat. Hopefully it won't be us and we'll keep winning these games vs the bottom half teams. RE: Serie A - reza - 09-28-2020 Genoa announce that 14 members of their match squad, believed to include eight players, tested positive for COVID-19 after the game with Napoli. https://www.football-italia.net/159492/genoa-confirm-14-covid-19-cases Wish all the best. I won't be surprised if 2020-2021 season gets disrupted too. RE: Serie A - Sleeping Giant - 09-28-2020 There are so much faulty testing going on. |
