RE: Serie A - ACM2023 - 04-25-2016 Galliani apparently always has a new way to brag. I believe that a few weeks ago he said something to that effect that "before Juventus dominance in Serie A, we were the last one to have won the Scudetto." I don't know if I should laugh or cry. RE: Serie A - ACM2023 - 04-25-2016 (04-25-2016, 04:09 PM)reza Wrote: We are finished until he is here, there is no denying it. None of us are Juve fans and they cheat too obviously but we are not in the same league as them these days. Some 30 points behind now and they have our former coach too. who is "he"? RE: Serie A - reza - 04-25-2016 I meant he as in Berlusconi RE: Serie A - ACM2023 - 04-25-2016 We are finished until Berlusconi is here? What does that mean? We were finished until he was here (30 years ago)? or we are finished until he is not here (or, until he is out of here)? Never mind, I think I got your point. And the second half just started. RE: Serie A - reza - 04-25-2016 while he is here RE: Serie A - Mystik - 04-26-2016 I think it says a lot about Serie A that Juve was even able to get back into this and end up winning comfortably. Allegri tried his best to throw the season and they STILL ending up winning RE: Serie A - am I Milan enough? - 04-26-2016 Their mgt knew what they re doing when they let go Vidal, Tevez and Pirlo while ours was clueless what they re gonna do with €90m. Congrats Juve. RE: Serie A - ACMILAN1983 - 04-26-2016 I agree nefremo that technology is a must regarding the ref discussion. My view I think comes down to refs needing to answer official bodies, rather than the public (which is why I'm hesitant with press interviews). They already have to submit a report if I'm right after every match, so perhaps a solution is to make these available to the press/public instead. If refs are comfortable giving interviews, then there's no reason to stop them. On Juve winning the scudetto, I'm mostly concerned that in Italy we have a Germany (or even France) type situation with one team totally dominant and in terms of how the club is run is years ahead of anyone else. Napoli have possibilities to try and close the gap, but as a club they're still way behind what Juve have built. Meanwhile Milan and Inter are floundering around without clear and significant growth. I think more and more it's becoming increasingly important for Italian football to try and get money pumped into clubs, most realistically Milan and Inter due to their history, to start rapid building to try and play catch up to Juve. I will credit Allegri though, he's at the heart of Juve's turnaround and I was critical of him and the side during the early period of the season. Given where he's at and where Milan are, I think it's safe to say the hate he got when at Milan is unwarranted, even if his style of football isn't necessarily one which fully fits with the Milan ethos (Miha's another who is in this group). Here's a FI article on him http://www.football-italia.net/83365/ode-allegri RE: Serie A - GeoTav - 04-26-2016 (04-26-2016, 09:04 AM)ACMILAN1983 Wrote: On Juve winning the scudetto, I'm mostly concerned that in Italy we have a Germany (or even France) type situation with one team totally dominant and in terms of how the club is run is years ahead of anyone else. Italy is still far from being like Germany or France. Germany is only Bayern and after 10 games, you already know they will be champions. In France, look at the gap between PSG and the others. In Italy, several teams can/could grow and challenge Juventus. Juventus has several difficult games in the season, while Bayern and PSG easily win most of theirs. RE: Serie A - ACMILAN1983 - 04-26-2016 Geo, in principle I agree, but at the same time there is that risk that others won't grow and Juve will dominate. 5 titles in a row is really saying something |
